Owen's 2nd B-day, Mickey Mouse style!!!

My baby is 2! Sniff... How are all my kids growing up soooo freaking fast!!!??? This baby boy is so in LOVE with "mouse", and although I do NOT think characters are cute, nor do i allow my children to wear anything with a character on it (unless they are camping or sleeping) I decided to give him a party he would be excited about!
Marshmallow fondant cake! The top tier is a large cupcake, and the ears are fondant covered oreos!

I dipped oreos in red chocolate (found in the cake/candy isle at craft/party stores) and put 2 candy pearls on for buttons. The ears are the same chocolate as the red, I just didn't melt it!

I made a quick subway art, bought gumballs, and dipped pretzel sticks in white chocolate and sprinkles!

I painted a big O (from Joanns) to look like Mickey.
 The cupcakes!!! Soooo easy!

 Pop corn!

Sign in book to leave a note for the Birthday Boy!
Food table (still missing chips, watermelon, and canaloupe) :)

 Hot dogs!!!!
 The whole setup!
I used a wagon to hold the gifts!
We had striped bags filled with treats/toys for all the cousins as party favors!

Here's a couple of photos of my darling baby boy!!!

Boston's HUNTING B-day parties!!!

My cute Boston turned 5 (I can't believe it!), and had 2 parties this year!! One for friends at our house, and an overnight camp out with family!
Here's the invite (I obviously altered it for the friend party, but it looked the same)...
FRIEND PARTY:

We had s'mores, trail mix, chips, pudding and capri suns for all his friends!

We filled the party hats with granola bars, reeses pieces and peanut butter cups, stickers, etc... For his friends to take home as a party favor!

We filled the tent with presents, and used an orange camping chair for the birthday boy to open his gifts in! We had targets and decoys around the yard and let the kids go "hunting" and shoot at them! They had a blast!
FAMILY CAMP OUT:
Obviously we went to a camp ground for this party! It was my Birthday boys wish, and since it was an easy wish to grant, I of course jumped right on it! ;)

We had all kinds of "hunting" food, granola bars, reeses, trail mix, etc...

Cream soda and rood beer of course!

The S'MORES station! (Yes, they all had lids on them, but I accidently broke one.. oops!) Have you ever tried a s'mores with a reeses peanut butter cup??? I highly recommend it! YUM!!!
We of course had to bring the deer decoy for him to "shoot" at with his play rifle, he was THRILLED!
 Hot dogs for dinner!!!
AND..... he got a real bow and arrow from Mom, and mostly Dad!! ;) He thought he was the neatest hunter EVER! He said it was the best party ever,  we all had so much fun!

4th of July PARTAY!

Well now that its been a month since the actual event, i guess we will post it!
Better late than never right?!?

So! We live pretty close to where they let off the fireworks in our little town.
Last year we decided we might as well just have everyone over to our house,
and just watch the fireworks from here rather than have to go down and
fight the crowds, cigarette smoke, and parking wars!

So this, year i was REALLY REALLY hoping to have a backyard to party in,
rather than the ghetto front yard... But we chose to do our kitchen instead (post to come soon!)
I had big plans for the party if it were to be in the backyard, but unfortunately it wasn't.

We just had some family over for a little BBQ before the fireworks started.

So we improvised with just a little set up--

(I forgot to photograph the table after everyones delicious salads got put on!)

I made this rag banner just out of strips of fabric and then tied them to some jute.

Treat bags for during the show!!

I made these cupcakes but the frosting top did NOT turn out like i wanted, and i frankly just ran out of time! SO! thats to bad! they were still delicious!

And there ya have it!
Nothing to fancy, but something for a little front yard family BBQ!
